Tessitura Toscana Telerie story begins in 1947, in our land just coming out from the horrors of the war.In those years

Italy was an explosion of projects and enthusiasm and in this spirit two young friends decided to start the adventure of our mill.Vinicio Tarli and Fano Puliti with a few liras in their pockets, a lot of ideas in their minds and an indestructible faith in their capability and in the future decided to found Tessitura Toscana Telerie ex nothing. An handshake put the seal on the indissolubility of their partnership. Today their tales look like pioneers’ stories.They bought old looms that were assembled in a small hangar. They restored them and with the typical Italian genius they equipped them with innovative technical solutions to weave new, fancy dolby and jacquard fabric for tablecloths only. The rhythmical beat of the looms took the place of the car engines’ sound and the factory turned out the first meters of fabric.

The volume of the hangar grew from year to year and at the same time also the number of workers increased. New horizons were opened, but still today TTT remains a family company. In the year 1958 the company expanded production in the bed linens area and immediately enjoyed a general esteem for quality and design. In the 70ties the two daughters of the promoting partners took over the direction of the company.

At the same moment, a young chemical engineer, husband of one them, realised that he could put his artistic skill to good use together with his technical qualification in designing new and innovative products. In the eighties thanks to his creative work the Company began to expand in the foreign markets, presenting new products at Heimtextil exhibition. Germany, France and U.S.A. have been our most important markets since the beginning. In ten years export turnover was equal to the internal one.

At the end of the eighties a big crisis, due to the sudden increase of the cost of work, forced the Company to close the internal textile department. Since then, the totality of production is contracted , selecting and using only the more reliable and updated contractors for weaving, printing, cutting and sewing. Tessitura Toscana is now a project dept. were we just make prototypes, quality control , stock and deliveries.

The new strategy gave us a lot of flexibility and the chance to follow new and different customers, especially the ones with special projects to develop. In the year 1992 the company began production for one of the major and most famous American Retailer group, the first of our important customers, in 1994 TTT has been chosen to design and produce the collection for famous designers .Many other came since then. Since few years the third generation of the families is operating in the mill as a new strength to be able to maintain the business in these years of extreme competition between Italy and Far East.

How to remember all the people who spent time and strain to make our company greater and increase turnover and production capability ? We have still people who is working with us since 35 years. TTT is not only an idyllic family frame. It’s more and more a place were everybody is working hard to maintain an exceptional quality and create new competitive products in the total respect of Italian design, combining industry and newest technologies and the skill of the Florentine craftsmen.
